Once upon a time, in 1963...

The Idealcaffè coffee roasting company was founded in 1963 in Cagliari by a young man with a passion for coffee. Seeing the growing popularity of espresso coffee in Italy, he decided to put this passion to work by offering hand made espresso coffee.

Soon the Idealcaffè excellence was well-known all over Sardinia; people could have an Idealcaffè espresso day or night in over 400 cafés.

In 1994, the company founder, who had succeeded in turning the Idealcaffè into a prosperous roasting company, passed away. In spite of the quality of its coffee blends, the company, like many others in the island, was in competition with multinationals who year after year penetrated and changed the market.

It was under these circumstances that two young and ambitious coffee lovers decided in 2002 to purchase the Idealcaffè. They named it the Nuova Idealcaffè (New Idealcaffè), modifying the blends, the design, and emphasising close customer service. Today they still seek to spread the Idealcaffè's aroma not only in Sardinia, from Carloforte to the Costa Smeralda, but everywhere in the world...
